Meet the Team: Evelyn Craig

Here’s a short Q&A with Evelyn Craig.

1. How long have you been with Vicki Philipoff Settlements?

About 15 years now.

2. Why did you choose to work for Vicki Philipoff Settlements and what’s so good about it?

I initially joined VPS as a temp covering maternity leave for one of the conveyancers, and 15 years later I’m still here! It’s a genuinely supportive team, and I’ve always enjoyed the collaborative environment.

3. What do you enjoy most about working in the industry?

I love how varied it is – it really keeps you on your toes. Every matter is different, so you’re always learning and problem-solving.

4. What’s one thing you can’t start your day without?

A cup of green tea.

5. What’s your favourite season and why?

Winter – I love the rain, especially for my garden.

6. How did you end up in Perth?

My parents moved to Perth when I was a teenager, but I stayed behind in my home town of Port Hedland to finish High School and complete a traineeship with a large mining company. After that was completed, I made the move to join my parents in Perth – and haven’t looked back.

7. What’s your favourite pastime?

Riding motorbikes – both on and off-road. I love getting outdoors and switching off.

8. Do you have any holidays planned or are you dreaming of planning a holiday soon?

I’m always dreaming about my next holiday – half the fun is planning where to go next! South Korea and Laos/Cambodia are hopefully the next destinations.

9. Do you have any pets?

Two rescue cats named Mackerel and Marlin.

10. What’s your go-to comfort food?

Filipino food – nothing beats it for comfort.
